FAQs

Why are you only selling to costumers in Austria and Germany?

Unfortunately, due to new EU EPR, PPWR, and GPSR regulations (packaging and recyling), we do ship exclusively to customers in Austria in Germany at the moment. The sad reason: There are no threshold margins for small vendors; selling just one pedal a year (!) now costs thausands of Euros per country and per year. I am sorry, this can only be stemmed by the big players. If you are not Austrian or German, but interested, please let me know by mail. If I receive enough expressions of interest, I might take the risk of buying an additional licence for your country. Thank you for your understanding.

Why are you selling Ge diodes separately and not make them part of the standard À la carte package?

Great question. After all, Ge diodes are music history and lie at the very heart of the fuzz concept. Well, this is due to yet another EU regulation: I am not allowed to ship an electronic device that is not RoHS compliant. Practically all Ge diodes are per definition non-compliant because they are "New Old Stock" electronic parts, produced decades before RoHS compliance was a thing. Legally, I cannot add a single Ge diode, even as an optional extension, to the pedal. This would break its RoHS compliance. Anyway, turns out that single diodes are not a device, so I can sell them to you as an entirely different, independent product.

The À la carte pedal features an open circuit. Is it fit for the stage?

The pedal is built of top quality parts such as Lumberg Jacks, Alpha potentiometers, and enclosed in a solid aluminum case (Hammond 1590A). Its absolutely stage safe to use, but yes, you have to keep in mind that parts of the circuit (all the things you slam on the magnets) are outside of the pedal, so just touching or moving a diode translates into audible noise. In short, I definitely do not recommend playing with diodes while the pedal is switched on and plugged into a 1000 W stadium rig (unless you are Tom Morello). However, you don't have to do this:

For bullet-proof live gigs I added a hidden feature to the pedal.

If you open the bottom, you will find slots for soldering your favorite diode combination straight into the pedal. It also has a small switch installed, which allows you, even after soldering, to choose between the magnets or the hard-wired diode combination. So, keep testing and trying till you find your perfect sound, and then make it permanent inside the pedal. Later, choose between your fixed combo (magnets set inactive, no danger of any noise) or keep on playing with the magnets - by simply flipping that internal switch.

A few words on shipping and returns

Please note that the prices do not include shipping costs. Currently, it's 4.20 for Austria an 11.90 for Germany. I ship from Graz, Austria, currently using GLS for national and international shipping as well, tracked and insured. Transit time is usually less than a week.

Every pedal is signed with the name of the customer on the inside of the bottom plate. Note that I am going to use the name that appears on the billing address – If you want me to write another name, please let me know either in the order notes or write me an e-mail to office@pantronicum.at.

Any import duties, taxes, or customs fees are not included in the product price or shipping costs. These charges are the buyer’s responsibility.

At pantronicum, guitar pedals are covered by a limited lifetime warranty. Note that this warranty covers any manufacturer’s defects and is only applicable to the original owner of the device. It does not cover normal wear and tear or product failure, cracking, breaking, damage, or loss caused by misuse, dropping, abuse, lack of maintenance, improper assembly, or, in general, any circumstance not meeting the criteria of a defect at manufacture.

Pedal sales are final. An item is sold as-described and cannot be returned unless it arrives in a condition different from how it was described.
